The prison was designed to be a place of maximum punishment, and its reputation as a haunted location is well deserved. There are many reports of paranormal activity in the prison, including spirit orbs, footsteps, and even voices.
2. The Amityville Horror House – Amityville, New York, USA
The Amityville Horror House was the site of one of the most famous haunted locations in the world. The house was built in 1974 and was the home of the Lutz family. The Lizzie Borden House was built in 1892 and was the home of Andrew and Abby Borden and Andrew’s daughter Lizzie. Andrew was a pharmacist, and Abby was a housewife. In July of 1892, Andrew and Abby were found brutally murdered in their home. After a detailed investigation, evidence pointed to Lizzie Borden being the murderer; however, there was no concrete evidence that could prove that Lizzie committed the acts without a doubt. The house is now considered to be one of the most haunted locations in the world and is said to be haunted by Andrew and Abby, who never received justice. The house has since been converted into a memorial/bed and breakfast.
6. Casa Loma, Toronto, Canada
Casa Loma was built in 1914 and is located in Toronto, Canada. The building is a mansion that was built for Sir Henry Pellatt, who was a lawyer and entrepreneur. The building is now considered to be one of the most haunted locations in Canada and is said to be haunted by a few different spirits, including Sir Henry Pellatt and his wife. Visitors have said that they’ve heard strange noises and that a playful spirit goes around trapping people’s hands and pulling their hair. The cemetery is now said to be haunted by many of its inhabitants – most notably Rufina Cambaceres. Rufina Cambaceres was a wealthy 19-year-old who was rumored to have been buried alive. Rumor has it that her family thought she had passed away, but she had suffered from catalepsy, a condition that can mimic death. The day after her funeral, a grave worker reportedly found the coffin’s lid broken, and when he looked inside, the lid was full of scratch marks, and the young woman’s face and hands were badly bruised, indicating she had tried to escape the coffin.

Rose Hall is a plantation that was built in 1740 and is located in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The plantation was home to Annie Palmer and her husband, John Palmer. Annie Palmer was a woman who was rather eccentric and was known locally as the White Witch. It was said that Annie could communicate with the spirits of the dead and that she practiced voodoo. After allegedly killing her husband, the story states that her slaves later killed her in retaliation for brutally torturing them and their families.
