Tax-Free Shopping– If you’re planning a “shopping day”, the best place to head is Delaware; after all, it’s a tax-free shopping state! There are plenty of places to shop, including the Christiana Mall near Newark, which is an upscale shopping destination featuring an Apple Store, a brand new Cabela’s, and other anchor stores like Nordstrom’s, Macy’s, and JC Penney’s. Continue your shopping spree south to the Rehoboth Beach Tanger Outlets. The Tanger Outlets offer outlet shopping at name brand and designer factory outlet stores where you can find great deals – and yes, all TAX-FREE!

State Parks– Delaware has a variety of state parks that provide visitors with miles of trails and waterways to explore. Keep in mind there is a small entrance fee at each of the parks, so frequent visitors should consider purchasing an annual pass. An annual pass allows your vehicle and its occupant’s unlimited year-round entry into all 14 state parks without having to pay any daily entrance fees. The pass costs $35 for Delaware state registered vehicles, and $70 for out-of-state registered vehicles. The pass will allow you to enjoy biking, hiking, kayaking, and more at all parks within the state.

Air Mobility Command Museum – The Air Mobility Command Museum is part of the National Museum of the United States Air Force field museum system. Volunteers at the museum instruct you on the principles of flight, including take-off, flying patterns, and landing at Dover Air Force Base. In addition, visitors 10 years-of-age and older can fly any of the museum aircrafts on their flight simulator! How cool is that? The museum is open Tuesday- Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and admission and parking are free!

Top-Rated Beaches– Delaware is known for having some of the nation’s top-rated beaches, including Dewey and Rehoboth beach, which were ranked as two of the nation’s cleanest beaches by the Natural Resources Defense council.
